Nico Ali Walsh, the grandson of boxing icon Muhammad Ali, has weighed in on the ongoing buzz surrounding Jake Paul, expressing his readiness to face the YouTuber-turned-boxer under one condition—if Mike Tyson tells him to do so.
Ali Walsh, who has built a respectable 11-1 professional boxing record, has been critical of Paul’s impact on the sport, particularly after Paul’s recent controversial unanimous decision victory over 58-year-old Tyson. Many in the boxing community questioned the validity and fairness of the match, with Ali Walsh labeling Paul “an embarrassment to the sport.” He further suggested that his legendary grandfather, Muhammad Ali, would have called Paul out for taking such fights.
Despite his criticisms, Ali Walsh noted his respect for Tyson and revealed he would consider stepping into the ring with Paul if Tyson, whom he looks up to, recommended it. “If Mike Tyson tells me to fight Jake Paul, I’d do it,” Ali Walsh remarked.
